Specialist Services

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

G & Co provides specialist child and adolescent psychiatric services, offering comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment for a range of mental health conditions. Our consultants work with children and young people from early childhood through to the age of 18, supporting families through every stage of the diagnostic and therapeutic process.

Primary Specialism

ADHD Assessment & Treatment

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is one of the most commonly presenting neurodevelopmental conditions in childhood and adolescence. Our specialist clinicians carry out thorough, multi-informant assessments drawing on clinical interviews, standardised rating scales, objective computerised testing (QbCheck), and school reports, in accordance with NICE guidelines. We assess for all presentations of ADHD — including inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, and combined types — in both boys and girls.

Assessment

Comprehensive diagnostic assessment including detailed developmental history, parent and teacher rating scales (e.g. Conners, SDQ), QbCheck — an objective computerised measure of activity, attention and impulsivity — cognitive screening, and a structured clinical interview with the young person. Reports suitable for school, local authority, and NHS referral purposes.

Treatment

Following diagnosis, we offer evidence-based treatment planning including psychoeducation for families, behaviour management strategies, and where clinically indicated, medication management with ongoing monitoring and review.

Other Conditions We Assess & Treat

Anxiety Disorders

Including generalised anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and social anxiety.

Mood Disorders

Including low mood and depression in children and adolescents.

Neurodevelopmental Conditions

Including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) co-occurring presentations.

Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties

Holistic assessment and formulation-based treatment planning.

Our clinicians work closely with schools, local authorities, and other healthcare professionals to provide joined-up, multidisciplinary care.

Specialist Services

Musculoskeletal Podiatric Medicine

Our podiatric medicine specialists provide expert assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower limbs. Using a biomechanical and musculoskeletal approach, we identify the underlying mechanical factors contributing to pain and dysfunction, and develop personalised treatment plans to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.

Diagnosis & Assessment

Each patient undergoes a thorough biomechanical and gait analysis, alongside a detailed clinical history and physical examination. Where required, we utilise diagnostic imaging and referral to allied health professionals to support accurate diagnosis. Conditions we assess include:

  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Forefoot pain (metatarsalgia, Morton's neuroma)
  • Flat feet and high-arched foot deformities
  • Knee, hip, and lower back pain of biomechanical origin
  • Sports-related lower limb injuries

Treatment

Treatment plans are tailored to each individual and may include:

  • Custom orthotic therapy and ankle foot orthotic provision
  • Bespoke orthopaedic footwear
  • Soft tissue therapy and mobilisation
  • Shockwave therapy for chronic tendinopathies
  • Injection therapy (where clinically appropriate)
  • Rehabilitation programmes and exercise prescription
  • Padding, strapping, and footwear advice
